In the digital scrapbooking world... a "hybrid" project is something you design digitally, but then print it out and finish it by hand. Personally, I like to call it digital crafting... Anyway, I've been wanting to make some fun coasters for a while to brighten my tablescape, but wanted to do more than just use paper. I wanted to step it up a notch and make them into something more than just what you put your glass on. Then it hit me and I decided to add questions to them to help spark fun, meaningful conversations about how each of our days went! And there you have it... "Conversation Coasters"!
Full instructions and a material list are included in the download, but here's a quick peek at what you'll need...
And... here's a peek at how fun they are when they are done!
Mod Podging is a fairly quick craft and making this set of 8 took me less than 30 minutes. I'm excited about how they turned out and can't wait to set my table with them this week! I think it'll be fun to hear the kids' (and my hubby's responses) and will be a great way to make our dinner time be quality time too. And, because most of the questions are specific about what happend "today"... each night the responses will be different. Plus, as your little helpers help you set the table, they'll have fun deciding who gets which question!
Best of all... when you stack 'em and tie them with a ribbon - they'll make a cute, easy gift for a friend. I got my tiles (4x4 white glossy ones) for less than a quarter each at Lowe's. So, not only is it thoughtful and fun... it's inexpensive, too! Your free printable awaits you...
TIP: Don't want to break out ModPodge?
Just print, trim and laminate and use them as pass around cards instead.

This is a wonderful idea! So did you modge podge them on and then spray them with the triple gloss? I was looking at tiles the other day and wish I had grabbed some. I just love this idea, and it would make a cute gift to change it up and do more like wedding ones for a couple getting married. See you have inspired me for the next wedding we go to. Thank you for linking to It's Stinkin' Cute Craft Thursday! Julie
