Oh my goodness... I haven't seen something as cute as this in a million years!! I rarely promote products besides my own - but this one is VERY WORTH an exception. My peeps at Deseret Book reached out and asked if I'd be willing to design some printables to accompany a new book they recently launched for this holiday season.
At first, I was honestly like... this is not what I do...
BUT... after they sent me the package, I read the little story and fell in love with the Little Lamb! She's not just ANY lamb... as the story goes, she was in the stable when baby Jesus was born!
So - hold onto your tinsel, friends... my little twist to the story is INSTEAD of hiding/moving a mischievous elf around during December - you can hide this darling Little Lamb and she'll deliver a new Nativity verse to read each morning!
(Free printable tags courtesy of yours truly... of course)!
Doesn't that sound WAY better than spilling milk and Cheerios to create elf chaos??
The first Christmas after Eric was diagnosed with cancer (2012), the holidays took on a whole new meaning for me. As I got my boxes out to decorate that year... my Santa's, reindeer and snowmen just felt empty and hallow. I cried and stuck them right back out in the garage; that was not the kind of "holiday cheer" I was looking for. I ended up decorating with just my Nativities, evergreen boughs, my tree and lights. It was, by far, the most meaningful Christmas we'd ever had - and the decorations really set the tone. After that, I got rid of any decor that wasn't Christ-centered and have never looked back. This darling story and Little Lamb is a perfect addition to how we celebrate the season in our home... ♥
... because it's NOT about reindeer and elves - IT IS ABOUT THE LAMB!
To help you get your new tradition started... I included a 3" gift tag (since it's an awesome gift idea and particularly great for grandma's to give their grand kids) + a little 2" instruction tag. Next is a sheet of 2" round tags with 12 Nativity Verses. The last sheet is full of blank tags - I suggest looking up your favorite scriptures about the Savior, writing them on the tags and using those for another 12 days leading up to Christmas - making 24 tags/days in all.
I suggest printing the tags on any kind of glossy paper (photo or brochure; brochure is my favorite) using your printer's best quality print setting. They are sized for 2" punching, or just use scissors. I laminated mine so I can used them year after year - then punched a small hole and tied a loop with twine so I can hang the tag on my Little Lamb each day. The verse tags fit perfectly in a favor-sized organza gift bag. If you are giving this as a gift, just carefully open the package and slip it inside.
Isn't she so cute?! I can't wait to introduce her to my kids on December 1st!
You can grab the "Little Lamb" book and gift set at any Deseret Book or online.

* I was not paid to write this post, these opinions are my own. However, as mentioned above, Deseret Book sent me the Little Lamb set as a gift.
It's just too cute and too meaningful not to share! ♥

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for these cute printables! I plan to use the blank tags to list names of Christ from the scriptures, along with the scripture reference and a treat to help my little ones remember.
