LDS General Conference Quotes: October 2014

Ohhhhh... how I love General Conference Weekend!!  I've updated this post to now include Women's, Saturday and Sunday's Sessions! I couldn't crank these out fast enough and there were SO MANY other wonderful quotes I could have done (and will definitely do in the future).  These particular ones, though, touched my heart - and when that happens, the design part just flows out of me.

My favorite of all the quotes so far was this one...

My heart aches as I watch my husband and family struggle to heal from the innocent wounds of cancer.  I made this one for us, it's in green... the color for Lymphoma. Pretty sure this was the most direct message I've ever received from any conference.  My soul is certainly full... and I hope your is as well.

  7. That final quote (the one you created in green) spoke to me. Half a lifetime ago a very close immediate family member abused me in a way that has colored my life ever since. I struggled to forgive this person, and finally I did (although this person never acknowledged the abuse, or was punished for it); but the pain was still there. It was only in the last month that I was able to release that pain, and it was because of a beautiful insight into the atonement: Jesus Christ suffered, not only for sins, but for every hurt and every abuse we have ever suffered. So when we hold on to the hurt, when we hold on to the pain, when we struggle for those who have wronged us to be held accountable by the world, what we are really saying is, "Your sacrifice wasn't good enough for this. This is bigger than what you went through." And perhaps that is what is meant in D&C when we are told that if we fail to forgive, those sins will be added to our own head - because can there ever be a greater sin than to deny the power of the atonement, to think that your pain, your suffering, is bigger than that? As soon as I realized this I cried my heart out and begged forgiveness . . . and in that moment I was made free. This person sinned against me - and will have to answer to Heavenly Father for that - because "when ye have done it unto the least of these ye have done it unto me." But that is between God and that individual - it has nothing to do with me. The atonement is big enough to cover my hurt, my anger, my resentment, my fear . . . so that I know longer have to suffer with them. I am going to print that out and hang it where I can see it every day - because I have truly been healed through the Grace of the Atonement. I am free, because my Heavenly Father and Savior love me.

  8. Dear Anonymous... My heart just broke when I read your note - but then was so uplifted and inspired by your strength and understanding of the atonement by the end. Thank you for your thoughts and story, I know they will help those who read. I'm honored that you can use my art to remind you of this beautiful truth. ♥♥♥

    Much love,

  10. Thank You! Thank You! What a blessing your talents are to so many! I'm so excited to use these. I am going to buy each of the ladies I visit teach a 5X7 frame and give her one of these quotes each month. Whatever fits the lesson or her situation. I appreciate all the time and talent you've shared with us so that we can bless others!
