World Lymphoma Awareness Day 2012

First hand I need to introduce myself, my name is Lisa and I have hijacked Colette's blog.  I am her little sister and she did give me her password (months ago) so I guess I have her unofficial permission to be writing this post.  Besides, a few years back she hijacked my blog so I guess it is time for payback.  And I couldn't have waited for a better time for payback as today is
"World Lymphoma Awareness Day."

That being said, I think we need to celebrate and support Colette and her family.   As Colette has mentioned here on her blog before, her hubby is battling cancer right now.  Times are tough for her and her family and Colette finds so much love and support through her blogging/online friends.  She always talks about the sweet e-mails or notes that you are sending her way.  She has even received a package or two in the mail from some of you.  AMAZING!!!

I have a favor to ask . . . Please give a shout out to Colette and her family in the comments section. Let's show her all the love and support she has from all over the world. It doesn't take but a minute and your uplifting words of encouragement will be with the her forever. I know she reads every comment and re-read them often when life has her down.  Please help me make this day one that Colette will never forget when we all came together to support her!

The color symbolizing Lymphoma is LIME GREEN so I asked the very talented Katie from Just So Scrappy to make a digital scrapbook kit just for the Bomsta's. She and her digital partner Misty from Crazy for Monograms were very quick to lend their hands and gave me just what I needed to hijack Colette's blog for the day and give it a quick make-over. Didn't these 3 girls do an amazing job on Colette's kit.  I know that some awesome printables will come from this kit.   A huge THANK YOU again to Katie and Misty for helping me out and dedicating this kit to Colette.!!!  I couldn't have pull all this off without you two!!!

You don't know this, Colette, but you've been an inspiration to me since you told all of us about your husband's illness. What courage you have! I believe our Heavenly Father is so proud of you and all of us are, too!

Colette, You were there to support our moms group - even through distance! Your example of charity and faith abounds. I'm honored to know you (ya know, even virtually). All good is from God, you are from heaven it's easy to tell. Prayers and thoughts to you and your family! Courtney Van Tress, NC

Collette, I am so sorry to hear about your DH's illness. Lymphoma can be so tough. Here is a survival story for you to help you see the light at the end of this long tunnel. My uncle was diagnosed with stage 4 non hodgkin's lymphoma, I am not sure what type of lymphoma your husband has, but usually you hear stage 4 and people start planning a funeral, but that is not the case with Uncle Barry, he is doing so well. He is 2 years in remission and doing amazing. He is hiking all over the mountains near his home in Alberta. The drug combinations now are so good at melting the cancer away. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your young family. You are such an inspiration.

Keep fighting! We're rooting for your family and your husband!

I was searching about 8 years ago for the color for lymphoma.. there were so many different suggestions online, none agreed on just one color! We needed bracelets made for a family member, and ended up going with red. At least we know what they're for :)

I "StumbleUpon"ed your wonderful blog about a year ago, and I was delighted at what I found. I've been inspired and uplifted by your beautiful and fun creations and have shared them with family and friends. It's fun to see how big our world can seem online, but yet our own lives can at times feel so small. I hope you remember your online world when you're down, and remember how big you truly are!

I'm so sorry that you've been going through this and I definitely understand. My brother was diagnosed with leukemia just over five years ago and it was such a difficult time. I can say that our family came together and became stronger and so much closer as we dealt with the huge challenge of that diagnosis and the treatment that followed. Happily my brother is now 5 years cancer-free, and seeing him now it's hard to believe that he was once so sick. I am saying prayers for you and your family, and praying that the Lord will carry you through the difficult days you're facing now, and also praying that soon you will be past them.
